You Make Me Feel Like Dancing

A super cute little trick Aunt Lyndsey taught E.

Now, she puts on her dancing shoes and does a good 'ol rendition of Flashdance at least 40 times a day. You go girl!

So Proud

E is just so darn proud of herself! All that she's doing makes her want to give herself a pat on the back, a thumbs up, a clap even.

I guess we celebrate all her little accomplishments so much that she picked up on it. Last night she started clapping and I thought she was just banging her hands together. Well, did she prove me wrong! All day I've been telling her to clap and that's exactly what she does! Yayyy Ella!

Well It's Official...

Yep, Miss E is walking. Don't believe me? See for yourself!

In our bathroom while getting ready for a Halloween party, surrounded by mommy, daddy and two bestest friends, Miss E took her first big girl steps. When the four of us screamed in excitement, E cried. And cried. I think we scared her. From then on, we just calmly praised our little with giant smiles smacked on our faces.

And walking is all E wants to do. Everywhere, on everything, over shoes and poodle toes and tails. Should I be scared?!?!

Happy Halloween!

We seem to have a theme today...mouth wide open and happy screaming. But we didn't need any help finding an itty bitty cutie patootie ladybug.
Her screaming pink-ness.

Hey there pood....you and I kinda match.

Were you saying I'm the cutest pink ladybug you've ever seen??

Oh stop, you're making me blush!!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

A strong cold front came in overnight and it's brrrr-rabbit!!! Time for sweaters and cute tights.

Yessssss.....

First things first. Gotta play with some golf balls.

This picture was followed quickly with a "No ma'am!"

As I'm writing this, Miss E is crawling around the floor chasing stray golf balls as they roll away. She is her Poppy's grandbaby/father's daughter.

It's Pumpkin Time!!

My fave time of the year!! And hopefully E's one day too.
We took Miss E to pick her very first pumpkin a few weeks ago. The perfect one we found and brought home, just waiting to be carved this week.

No Ma'am

Funny how quickly babies learn things. "No" probably being the most important. At least over here at Miss E's house. She hears it alot. As in all the time, every other second, constantly.
I'm not a big babyproofer. We did the obvious, like plug covers. But I refuse to make my home a padded cell. Miss E will fall. She will get hurt. That's part of being a kid. It's how you learn.
I may eat my words as she gets older. But it's not like I leave her unattended in the bathroom with the toilet lid open.
Fortunately, E listens well. For the most part. A few months ago we introduced the word 'no'. At first there was zero comprehension, of course. But lately, that cute little head is starting to understand.

Can I, can I, can I???

No ma'am!

Her reaction to the word varies, but it's always one of three things. She turns to look at me, with her hand almost touching the forbidden object, contemplates my face, then moves on to something else. Or she will shriek, a mad shriek, an obvious displeasure with my words. This is usually followed by repeat attempts to grab said object. Or, she will approach something and turn to look at me, waiting for my approval or disapproval. If I tell her no, then it's on to something else. If I tell her yes, then she happily picks it up and promptly puts it in her mouth.
When she shrieks and makes a face, it takes everything not to laugh and smile. She's just so darn cute when she squishes up that pretty face and lets me know, "I am so not happy with you Mother." However, I know one day soon I will appreciate that I turned my head away to hide my smile.

I Guess It's Good

Soy yogurt, that is. Since Miss E can't have regular milk and therefore, regular yogurt, we're giving the good 'ol soybeans a try.

It ended up on her eye/eyebrow due to slight rubbereye (ya know, when your really sleepy and you rub your eye??)

Hopefully soy will open up the food options for out little because she wants nothing to do with "baby food".

Anybody need about, oh...400 jars of baby food? Anybody??
